2021 President's Message to Members of The Military Postal History Society

Dear MPHS members,

Here’s welcoming in the New Year. Let me extend to each of you on the behalf of the Society a wish for a happy, prosperous, and above all safe 2021.

Many challenges remain for the MPHS moving into 2021. No annual meeting is planned. The plan is an executive meeting in the first quarter with a general meeting to follow; both to be done virtually.

The MPHS has had more than its share of struggles over the past 2+ years. Thanks in large measure to the hard work of our outgoing president, Ed Dubin, the largest of these are behind us. The Bulletin is in the capable and hard-working hands of Dann Mayo who has quickly re-established a regular schedule, although perhaps with some USPS delays. Something most of us experienced during 2020. The auction manager is Kelly Horn. He is hoping you will participate both by consigning and by bidding. The executive committee is complete.

For some of you, there have been problems in communication with the MPHS including regarding membership. Let me assure you that this issue will have my closest attention. If you are having ANY such issues, please let me know directly. My email address is:

If you have not received a dues reminder for 2021, please contact the Treasurer or consider using the new PayPal link on the website.

The MPHS has a lengthy and noteworthy place in the philatelic community, APS affiliate #19. We have opportunities to expand our presence particularly in the digital environment. I am myself something of a Luddite but look forward to engaging with the membership in these new initiatives. The expectation is to see updates in the website, a social media presence, and virtual meetings with philatelic and educational content. Anyone with ideas along htose lines is encouraged to get in touch with me. We look to do this in a collaborative fashion and highly value your membership, contributions and participation in our Society.
