Appendix 2: List of Ahmednagar Prisoners

A list of 2742 entries of individual Ahmednagar prisoners has been compiled as part of the Military Postal History Society monograph entitled The Ahmednagar Prisoners of War Camps, India 1914-1920: A Postal History. Introduction

The compilation was developed by combining several lists appearing in the National Archives of India, the US National Archives, and extractions from the Sonke Clasen book. ‘Asa result, approximately 300 entries appear on more than one list. Ahmednagar prisoner numbers are provided as available. The US National Archives list includes duplicate Ahmednagar numbers on different prisoners.

The list is arranged alphabetically by last name. In order to find any particular name or other field of interest, you should use the "search" capability of your e-reader, such as a web browser (for HTML file), or PDF reader for that file.
