This postal history article shows postal material that is rarely seen, specifically related to the United States military activities in the First World War. There are many items in collections and exhibits that show individual aspects of this postal history, such as locations of APO post offices, or material from members of specific military units, but the subjects illustrated here are far less common.
In some cases, the material brings up questions that are not yet understood as to origin or even the military group involved.
