During 1941 a collector affixed gummed flag labels to envelopes and sent them away to military organizations in the States asking for the cancel used by the unit. Many had no special cancel just using the local civilian Post Office. Others had special military cancels and some even added special money order type cancels or unit handstamps. Most are franked with the 1 1/2¢ PREXIE or 2¢ Defense issue. I have tried to break the down into categories that would attract the larger interest. When multiples are listed they usually have either different sending units or different cancels.
