HMS Britomart

- The Britomart was launched in 1899. She was assigned to the China Squadron and recommissioned in Hong Kong on March 15, 1906.
- Mailed from Shanghai (franked with a Hong Kong stamp) in January, 1911. The writer mentions that the ship spends most of its time in the river (Yangtze) and rarely comes ashore.

HMS Carlisle

- The Carlisle was a C class light cruiser constructed by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, and launched on July 9, 1918. She was commissioned on the day of the signing of the Armistice, namely November 11, 1918.
- With a complement of 330 to 350, she saw service in World War II and was broken up in Australia in 1949. Her china service spanned two years from 1919 through 1921.
HMS Teal

- The Teal was launched in 1901, spending her entire career on the Yangtze with her complement of only 31 men. She was sold in Shanghai in 1931.
- This cover was mailed from Tatung (Shanghai) on March 4, 1907. It was routed through both the Chinese and the French (Indochina) postal systems before reachingStuttgart, Germany on April 17, 1907.

- Mailed from a sailor on board the Teal to his girlfriend in the international settlement in Shanghai. Mailed from Hankow on June 1, 1905, and serviced by the Sjanghai Local Post on June 4, 1905.
